Technology alone is not enough and we must provide the training and tools to ensure best practices in offering digital financial services that are responsible and aligned with social performance management. Our partners are held to the highest standard in support of these objectives.

  • Advancing Industry Standards

    We endorse and support industry-wide standards for collaboration, openness and transparency. Mifos X integrates with the Mix Markets standard XBRL reporting taxonomy, supports pricing disclosure recommended by MFTransparency, and data management for client protection.

  • Social Performance Management

    Technology is an important tool to advance responsible financial inclusion and client protectionism. We work closely with leading financial inclusion supporters like the Smart Campaign, Grameen Foundation, and the Center for Financial Inclusion to ensure our software tracks social performance management like the PPI and the tools and transparency to put financial institutions on a path towards becoming Client Protection Certified.

  • Best Practices

    Across the Mifos community, we collectively share the knowledge of our partners and our worldwide users. This is incorporated into the platform and published openly as documentation, toolkits, white papers, webinars, and training materials for best practice technology implementation, business processes, and SPM.

  • User-Driven Product Roadmap

    We ensure the product roadmap is user-driven so that every new feature, service, or innovation is appropriately designed to maximize the value to the end client. All of our processes and agile product development methodologies are focused on listening and responding to user need. Innovation is driven from the bottom-up providing software that is easy to use, localizable to their region, flexible to support their services and workflows, and available on and offline and via mobile. Software must be accessible when and where it is needed the most – at the point where MFIs are directly serving the poor.

    We not only build up the internal capacity of financial institutions serving the poor,  we connect them with trusted local partners to support them, optimize their processes, and help them implement new innovation. We equip these partners, hold them to a high standard of excellence, and provide our customers the tools to directly connect with this local support and facilitate virtual and in-person meetings to further collaboration.

    Software can achieve its widest impact if it is freely and openly available to be downloaded, implemented, and maintained on an ongoing basis. We guide the community in making regular open source releases of the Mifos software freely downloadable, fully documented, and available in multiple formats that suit the rugged environments where our customers serve the poor. Whether an institutions is large or small, we support any deployment model and technology infrastructure that suits its budget, needs, and environmental constraints.
