FINA has decided to use it’s experience of working in financial institutions of Africa and CIS (post soviet) countries with Mifos team and has already become a part of its community.

The core business line of the company is Open Source software development. Main product is MIS/BI for regulators with the same name “FINA” – this product was implemented in 13 countries : Azerbaijan, Tajikistan, Eritrea, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Nigeria, Congo (DRC) , Rwanda, etc.

FINA LLC has had more than 12 successful implementation of Banking & Insurance Supervision systems in various countries around the world including Nigeria, Mongolia, Azerbaijan and etc.
FINA LLC has been working with Mifos Team from 2011. FINA has managed to translate Mifos into several languages including Laos, Georgian, Mongolian and etc. Also FINA has designed Sites for Mifos on Georgian and Laos but our main contribution is functionality GAP analysis and market analysis for Mifos X system. The research was done mainly in the following countries: Georgia, Laos, Nigeria, Russia and a general overview in (post-soviet Countries). Last but not least was financing the financial module development for Mifos 2 X. FINA Ltd initiated and partly financed Mifoss Accounting integrated module.
At this moment we are participating in Google Summer of Code project with Mifos with one of our mentors and an intern student. This is the task list of FINA for this GSoC project:
- Develop custom query builder simultaneously to Saiku and integrate approved option with Mifos system.
- Make Chart of Accounts importable, include it’s hierarchy.
- Make collaterals more detailed and customizable
- Implement Mifos in couple of West African and East Asian organizations
But we have more far reaching plans together with Mifos, one of which is testing the Mifos X platform in Georgian Microfinance institutions and after that implementing it in post-soviet countries.
